Our Commitment to Safeguarding

At ASM Academy, safeguarding and the wellbeing of children are our highest priorities.

We are fully committed to creating safe, supportive, and positive environments where children can learn, develop, and thrive through sport, mentoring, and structured activity.

All ASM Academy programmes operate with clear safeguarding standards that reflect our responsibilities to schools, parents, and students.

Safeguarding in Practice

Safeguarding is embedded into every aspect of our delivery.

This includes:

  • Careful planning and structured session delivery

  • Clear supervision and professional boundaries

  • Positive behaviour management

  • A strong focus on student wellbeing and inclusion

All staff working with ASM Academy understand their safeguarding responsibilities and are expected to act immediately if a concern arises.

Staff, Training & Professional Conduct

All ASM Academy staff, coaches, mentors, and support staff:

  • Are safely recruited and appropriately vetted

  • Receive safeguarding and child protection training

  • Are supervised and supported in their roles

  • Follow clear codes of conduct and professional standards

Staff are required to maintain professional behaviour at all times and to place student safety and wellbeing above all else.

Working With Schools & Parents

When delivering in schools, ASM Academy:

  • Works in line with each school’s safeguarding policies and procedures

  • Communicates clearly with school safeguarding leads

  • Ensures delivery aligns with school expectations and standards

We believe safeguarding works best through partnership and transparency with schools and parents.

Reporting Concerns

Any safeguarding concern is taken seriously and acted upon promptly.

Concerns are:

  • Handled confidentially

  • Managed by trained safeguarding leadership

  • Escalated appropriately where required

Safeguarding concerns may be shared with schools or relevant authorities in line with established procedures.

Photography, Video & Media

ASM Academy only uses photographs or video footage of children:

  • With appropriate parental and/or school consent

  • For professional and appropriate purposes

  • In line with safeguarding and data protection expectations

Children without consent are never included in media.
